Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has announced the appointed of Mikael Ångman as the new chief operating officer(COO) of the company effective September 1, 2016.
Ångman currently serves as chief executive officer and chairman of mobile sports betting technology provider, Mobenga, a fully owned Playtech subsidiary, who he joined as COO in 2011.
The company further announced the promotion of chief marketing officer Katja Laaksonen to managing director of Guts.com.
Laaksonen previously served as director of CRM at Betsson before joining GIG in 2014.
GIG said in a press statement, that the appointments support its ambition to strengthen and support its organisational and operational development following strong growth in all segments.
The company’s expansion has led to the establishment of a Group executive management responsible for three business areas; Gaming, Digital Marketing and Cloud Services.
Robin Reed, who acted as managing director of Guts.com prior to Laaksonen’s appointment, will focus solely on his role as group chief executive officer.
“GIG has undergone transformational change as we have evolved from an affiliate, to an operator and ultimately the technology firm we are today,” Reed said.
