Online gambling group Interwetten has reported an encouraging start to 2014 with 7 percent growth in Q1 revenues to Euro 11.1 million.
Growth could have been even higher had the company not been obliged to exit the Greek and Belgium online gambling markets for regulatory reasons, spokesman Werner Becher said.
Becher revealed that the company now generates 40 percent of its turnover from mobile sports betting, and said that this could be expected to rise with the World Cup football in Brazil later this year.
On the online casino side of Interwetten operations, mobile is also playing an important role, generating 20 percent of turnover.
Marketing expenses have jumped 28 percent as the company builds momentum for the World Cup.
