Online gambling group Skybet has posted impressive results for the first quarter of its new financial year – the three months ended September 30 2013 – reporting revenues up 20 percent year-on-year at GBP 32 million.
Active player numbers rose 20 percent, with the company adding half a million new punters to its books over the past twelve months, boosting total active player numbers to over a million.
Managing director Richard Flint told media reporters that the gains were at the expense of market rivals and despite lagging sports betting activity.
Flint attributed much of the success to the company’s mobile channel, noting that its revamped mobile app has already delivered over a million bets.
The company’s headquarters in Leeds, England, now employs over 500 people, the report revealed.
