The Guardian newspaper, which has been at the forefront of reportage on the controversial Fixed Odds Betting Terminals in retail betting shops (see previous reports) has itself attracted criticism due to its involvement in the GoWager online sports betting enterprise.
The consequence, according to unconfirmed reports circulating Friday, has been a decision to halt the GoWager operation in deference to public commentary on the newspaper’s promotion of a gambling service.
GoWager, which is regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, launched barely a year ago, powered by FSB Tech software.
