GVC broadens offer with acquisition of online bingo group

Online gambling group GVC Holdings has acquired online bingo operator and supplier Cozy Games for an undisclosed amount, adding around 120 online bingo and casino sites to its stable, including popular venues like Lucky Socks Bingo, Comfy Bingo, Fun Bingo and Wow Bingo.

The group owns two major website networks Live Bingo and Best Bingo.

Licence listings at the UK Gambling Commission indicate that the site ownership has now changed to ElectraWorks Limited, which is part of the GVC group.

Industry observers have speculated that the decision to sell the bingo group was motivated by recent changes in bingo bonuses policy and taxation in the UK, and that the new owner may be considering a merge of Live and Best, and possibly some cost-cutting on the plethora of websites.
