The publication Online Poker Report has quoted unnamed sources ‘close to the situation but not employees’ who claim that Eldorado Resorts has fired the in-house online gambling team at recently acquired Tropicana Entertainment in Atlantic City.
The in-house staff runs Tropicana’s successful NJ online casino operations, which routinely deliver $3 million a month in revenues, and observers have opined that it is unlikely that Eldorado would want to abandon such a tempting revenue stream.
In the absence of official information from either Eldorado or Tropicana, the speculation is that Tropicana’s technology partner on the online casino side, Gamesys, may have been tasked with sole operating responsibility, but this is not clear.
Gamesys also runs Virgin online casino in New Jersey under the Tropicana licence.
