After just 16 months as director general of Spain’s online gambling directorate DGOJ, Enrique Alejo (54) is departing to take up a post as CEO at Spanish television company RTVE, widespread reportage in the Spanish entertainment media has disclosed.
Alejo, who has extensive senior management experience – mainly with State organisations – was sponsored for the post by RTVE president Leopoldo Gonzalez-Echenique, and approved by the board of the television corporate on Wednesday.
Alejo’s successor has not yet been named; until the appointment is made Alejo’s responsibilities will be divided among his three assistant directors at the DGOJ, Jaime Lorenzo García-Ormaechea (ADG-Management and Institutional Relations); Cecilia Pons (Deputy Director Inspection Play and Deputy Director Carlos Hernandez Riera (General Gambling Regulation.)
