A new branded slot game titled “Highlander” was released to various operators on Electracade’s GTS software platform this week.
The game, based on the first run of the cult fantasy film The Highlander starring Christopher Lambert, is a 5-reel, 20-payline non-progressive video slot featuring Wilds, Scatters, Free Spins and multiple bonus features.
Highlander movie buffs will recognise symbols unique to the film in the form of The Kurgan, Immortals, Crossed Swords, Connor McLeod – the Highlander, the Gathering and Holy Ground.
Wilds substitute for all except bonus and scatter symbols in this game with the first of three bonus games “Battle the Kurgan” triggered with the appearance of three or more Battle Bonus scatters. Players take on the role of the Highlander himself in this bonus game and must select battle moves to defeat the Kurgan enabling a move up the prize bar towards $3000. Unsuccessful moves deplete the Highlander’s only three energy levels – while successful moves increase them. The game ends when the player loses all energy levels or reaches the upper levels of the prize bar.
The Free Spins Bonus Game is triggered by the appearance of three or more scatter free spins symbols appearing on an active payline. This round includes a Super Wild symbol.
The final bonus game, the “Sword Skill Bonus” is activated by landing three or more Sword Skill Bonus symbols that switch to Tartan Tiles. The player has the option to click on one tile to reveal a prize hidden beneath.
