Sports betting data provider Sportradar is to provide the security of global betting oversight on a wide range of football matches organised by the Hong Kong Football Association.
The partnership deal will see Sportradar monitoring and recording data through its Fraud Detection Service, which will be deployed across 113 games in the Hong Kong Premier League, League Cup, Community Shield, Senior Shield, FA Cup and Play-offs, until July 2017.
The agreement helps strengthen measures against corruption in sport by monitoring international betting patterns.
Sportradar director of integrity Darren Small says that the company has opened an office in Hong Kong, its first in the region, as it strives to provide a high level of service to its Asian clients.
Mark Sutcliffe, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Football Association, said that the deal with Sportradar provided an additional level of security and confidence in the fight against corruption in sport.
