Inspired Gaming Group (IGG) said it welcomed the start of the virtual sports homologation process in Italy which was announced by the Italian gaming authority AAMS earlier this month, an event it says the company has prepared for over the last three years.
IGG said it has already clinched deals with major Italian operators SNAI, Sisal, Intralot, Eurobet, Lottomatica and Cogetech, which it estimates as around 90 percent of the Italian betting market.
The company, already established in Italy’s VLT market, foresees its virtual sports product as a key product for leading operators in the country. It currently provides seven sports and around thirty product variants for retail, in-home broadcast, online, mobile and gaming terminals.
Steve Rogers, managing director of Inspired’s Virtual Sports division, commented: “Our years of experience have shown our virtual sports provide incremental revenues for sports betting operators across all channels. We supply our virtual sports to many of the world’s most successful gaming companies and we’re delighted to now commence deployment of our products to the Italian betting market”.
