IGT to introduce wide area progressive products to U.S. online operators

International Gaming Technology (IGT) has announced that it is to introduce its first Wide Area Progressive games to the United States, bringing a concept that has been popular for years on European online gambling sites to American online punters.
In a press release Friday the company revealed that it will offer Mega Jackpots Cleopatra and Mega Jackpots Siberian Storm via four licensed and regulated online casinos in New Jersey, hoping to translate the overseas success to the American player environment.
Jackpots on the games will be seeded at $500,000, and will grow as player activity drives the jackpots upward, the provider said.
IGT senior VP for PlayDigital, Enrico Drago, said in a company statement:
“IGT’s MegaJackpots games continue to entertain players in the UK and other mature digital gaming markets around the world, and we believe our customers in New Jersey will benefit from incorporating life-changing jackpots on proven themes such as Cleopatra and Siberian Storm into their digital content offerings.”
