Reno, Nevada-based slots manufacturer IGT, which has internet games and technology providers Wagerworks and Million-2-1 among its subsidiaries, plans to make further moves into the internet space as part of its international growth strategy, CEO Patti Hart told Fox Business in a television interview this week.
Hart was not specific, but said that her company was not threatened by the internet, had expanded its knowledge of the milieu, and had ambitious plans as an ‘enabler of gambling.” She said that growth outside the United States was a “significant tenet of our future strategy.”
IGT holds 60 percent of the US [land] slots supply market, and in 2010 achieved international growth of 28 percent. Speaking in a general business sense, Hart revealed that the best growth markets were currently South and Central America, which she said had major potential.
