The Indian state of Telangana’s recently imposed legislative ban on all online gambling (see previous report) has been challenged in the state’s High Court by unidentified gambling companies from across India, who argue that poker and rummy are games of skill and should not be included in the ban.
Local media reports are that a division bench of the Court has directed the Telangana government not to take any action against the companies, so long as the petitioners block players from Telangana, and that the dispute is being scheduled for further hearing.
