Indonesian online gambling bust

Authorities in the Indonesian province of Papua have arrested three alleged online gambling operators of an unidentified website, reportedly rooted in Germany.

The operation had been launched in January 2017 from a shop-house in Timika and generated turnover of between Rp 600 million (US$45,038.34) and Rp 700 million per day, according to the suspects. Authorities believe, however, this amount could possibly have reached up to Rp 2 billion per day.

The investigation is ongoing.
