Industry veteran to head William Hill's digital business

Online and land gambling group William Hill plc has announced the appointment of former Betsson chief exec Ulrik Bengtsson to the newly created position of Group Chief Digital Officer.

The industry veteran, who will be directly responsible to group chief executive Philip Bowcock in the digital role, is expected to join the William Hill executive team in April this year.

Well known in the industry, Bengtsson left Betsson last year after six years in the driver’s seat.

The new executive management structure sees Crispin Nieboer move from William Hill Online, where he was md, to another new post – Group Corporate Development Director, with international responsibilities.

Nieboer’s position as md at William Hill Online, now reporting to Bengtsson, will be taken over by digital operations COO Grant Williams.
