The widespread use of Internet cafe ‘sweepstake’ online gambling could come under review for possible intrastate regulation if new provisions to a Florida land gambling bill come to fruition.
State Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff’s reworked bill filed Friday includes a call for regulating the practice, along with the approval of mega land casinos in the state if a referendum is positive on the idea; and giving residents a say on land casinos and slots at dog tracks, reports the Associated Press news agency.
The bill will be considered by a Senate panel on Monday.
