Despite Washington D.C.’s controversial internet gaming programme being put on hold until public consultations take place, Greek gaming company Intralot is putting its ducks in a row in anticipation of a positive outcome.
The Washington Times reports that the company is hiring personnel as part of their online gaming strategy for the city and three unidentified states.
As the State’s intention to venture into the online gaming world continues, a joint venture between Intralot and a local partner called DC09 is reportedly advertising for positions such as a “Table Games Operator” along with another ten I-Gaming positions.
Bryan Boothe, Intralot’s vice president for government relations said: “Intralot recognizes that the D.C. program, known as I-Gaming, still needs community input and key approvals.
“Irrespective of that, the company is moving ahead with an I-Gaming strategy to have personnel who they can train and place in the appropriate locations, which may or may not start with the District.”
The I-Gaming measure still needs to get the green light with the re-scheduling of community consultations the next step forward.
Council member and Democrat, Tommy Wells, is reportedly repealing the I-Gaming measure, while other council members have allegedly indicated support for a re-examination of the programme as a whole.
