According to the latest numbers released by the Italian regulator AAMS, the Italian gambling market continued to produce stellar results in 2011.
Italy’s total gaming wagers rose 26.4 percent in the first eleven months of 2011 to Euros 69.5 billion ($90.8 billion) from a year earlier, the Reuters news agency reported.
The rise is in line with previous months, and reflects the resilience of the sector despite the global economic slowdown and the government’s intention to raise taxes.
Milan-based Lottomatica has been the top gainer this year, chased by SNAI; both are active in several gaming sectors.
