When Italian regulator AAMS finally permitted online slot action in the Italian gambling market on December 3rd this year, it opened the door for the generation of significant revenues, say analysts.
The more bullish among them opines that the sector is already worth around Euro 268 million a year, and the potential for growth is considerable.
Online slots typically account for a high proportion – around 70 percent – of an online casino’s revenue, according to the publication iGaming Business, and now that operators licensed by the Amministrazione autonoma dei monopoli di Stato (AAMS), are cleared to offer slots games to Italian customers, it could potentially result in a fourfold increase in online casino operator revenues.
