Italian online gambling regulator Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (AAMS) can claim enforcement success in its measures to blacklist unlicensed operators and ISP-block access to their sites, according to a report in Gioco News this week.
The report quotes official AAMS figures that show a total of 5,708 websites on the blacklist over the past decade…and 800 million attempts to access them blocked by Internet Service Providers in 2015 alone
The regulator revealed that the best year for blocking was 2009, when it recorded 2.5 billion successful blocks on Italians trying to access black-listed online gambling websites.
