The information and news site Jamma.it and other Italian media are currently reporting the departure of Raffaele Ferrara, the director of Italian regulator AAMS, for reasons that are not clear.
The reports suggest that he is being transferred to another senior position within the Italian Ministry of Finance, although no detail has as yet been made available as to his new appointment, or who is to succeed him.
Ferrara recently countered calls for more tax increases on gambling operators by warning that taxes are already high and that further hikes could prove to be unproductive.
