Reporting on the latest stats from Italian gambling regulator AAMS, the Reuters news agency records that Italy’s total gaming wagers rose 21.45 percent in the first seven months of 2011 to Euros 41.9 billion ($58.9 billion) compared to the same period in 2010.
The rise is faster than the 19.33 percent increase seen in the first half of the year.
In July, total wagers were Euros 6.08 billion, including Euros 3.61 billion in the slot machine sector, AAMS said, without giving comparatives.
