The Dutch gambling monopoly Holland Casino is going to eliminate a further 150 to 200 jobs, about 5 percent of its workforce, in more cost-cutting measures, reports the Reuters news agency and the NL Times.
The job cuts will be made at the state-owned company’s 14 branches, and follow an earlier staff reduction measure in November 2013 that eliminated 100 posts as the company battled for financial survival .
Sources have said that the cost-cutting measures will not impact the impending legalisation of online gambling in the Netherlands, or Holland Casino’s intentions to be part of the new market, scheduled to begin in 2015.
