The latest (June 2013) numbers from the Nevada Gaming Control Board were released Friday, showing a 4.8 percent decline in revenues when compared with the same period last year.
Nevada land casinos won $792.5 million in June, down from $833 million in June 2012.
Las Vegas Strip winnings of $435 million were down just over 10 percent year-over-year, but more encouragingly Downtown Las Vegas winnings of $37 million were up 9 percent.
Reno casino revenue came in at $49 million in June and was down about 3 percent, whilst South Lake Tahoe winnings of $13 million dropped an alarming 24 percent.
The state collected $43 million in taxes based on the June winnings, which was 13 percent up from the prior year.
June also saw the close of the 2013 fiscal year, with the Board reporting that statewide gaming revenue was up 1.8 percent to $10.9 billion, with the Las Vegas Strip contributing $6.3 billion – up almost 4 percent.
