Kambi in sports betting deal with Georgian land casino

In its first deal since moving away from parent Unibet (see previous reports), Kambi Sports Solutions has inked a sports betting provision deal with the largest land casino operator in Georgia, the Casino Iveria group.

Iveria is launching its first online gambling operation under the Iveriabet brand, and is to use Kambi’s online sports betting solution. In addition, Kambi will provide services for Iveria’s retail betting shop in Tiblisi.

Kambi CEO, Kristian Nylén, says his company is also seeking expansion in other Eastern European regions like Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

“This further demonstrates Kambi’s ambition and focus on international markets,” Nylén said Friday. “This agreement is strategically important as it provides an entry point into a newly regulated geographic market.”

Georgia has restricted the issue of online gambling licenses to companies already holding land gambling permits in the country.
