Kindred Group (formerly Unibet) has become the first private operator to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Anti Doping Danmark (ADD), a self-governing institution that falls under the Danish Government’s Ministry of Culture.
Under the MoU, Kindred Group has undertaken to report suspicious betting activity directly into ADD’s platform which is rooted in the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sport Events.
The Convention recommends the establishment of such platforms, to facilitate cooperation between sports, government and the betting industry to preserve the integrity of sports in the different European Union Member States.
“Match-fixing is a threat to society as a whole,” Eric Konings, sports betting integrity officer for Kindred Group, commented. “As we operate under our ‘see something, say something policy’, we are grateful for the opportunity to work with a public authority such as Anti Doping Danmark and contribute to the National Platform in Denmark.”
