Philippines police in Cebu City carried out raids on a condominium block Friday, arresting 6 Korean nationals for running an internet gambling operation.
Police investigators are still trying to confirm the identities claimed by the men, all in their twenties and early thirties.
Officers from the Philippine National Police Regional Intelligence Division made the arrests, armed with a search warrant issued by Cebu Regional Trial Court Judge Sylva Aguirre-Paderanga. The police had earlier received information from a source developed from earlier raids, also involving Korean nationals.
10 computer processing units, computer monitors, keyboards, laptops, cellular phones, calculators and bank books were seized by the raiding party.
Chief Insp. George Ylanan, Regional Special Operations Group chief, said the six Koreans were caught in the act of operating an online gambling enterprise.
