UK land and online gambling group Ladbrokes has become the latest major betting company to deny it is making a move to acquire the top Aussie independent bookmaker Tom Waterhouse.
In denying that there has been any contact, Ladbrokes joins a roster of several big bookie companies that have stepped forward recently to repudiate media claims that bids of up to A$200 million have been offered to the 30-year-old head of the Australian family business.
CEO Tom Waterhouse has declined to comment specifically but has revealed that the company regularly receives calls exploring acquisition possibilities.
