The latest Ladbrokes television advertisement – the first produced by current agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty – has had a mixed reception judging by social media comments; some like it but a there’s a lot of not-very-polite criticism as well.
Centred on the theme “Betting Men” the ad shows the different approaches to betting of a group of five typical and rather scruffy lads going to the races and football matches and having fun in the pub and on the go-cart track.
Presumably the composition and attitudes of the mates was arrived at in focus groups – the product has that sort of feel.
The gang comprises The Professor, The Gut Truster, Mr. Brightside, Generous John and The Believer as they experience the fun of socialising and gambling in The Ladbrokes Life, which runs for around 60 seconds and can be viewed here:
Press material reveals that the presentation will be followed by five more, somewhat shorter pieces which will explore the biographies of the five friends.
