British media are reporting that merger talks between Ladbrokes and 888 may have come to an impasse over price.
Merger talks between the two companies were confirmed in December 2010 and a firm offer made in January 2011 has apparently been rejected as being far below expectations reports The Daily Mail.
Unidentified sources claim that Ladbrokes would not be willing to increase its offer and may walk away from the proposed deal. Analysts predict the deal as having a 50-50 chance of proceeding.
Ladbrokes originally tried to buy 888 four years ago for GBP470 million.
