Microgaming has breathed new life into Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic 1912 novel hero Tarzan, the subject also of many Hollywood interpretations, showcasing again the powerful but noble-hearted jungle legend that captured the imagination of several generations.
Now the theme of an online slot titled simply Tarzan, the game has launched simultaneously on desktop and mobile channels.
The theme of the new game takes the player deep into the tropical jungle, where the lush canopy provides a visual treat in this 40-line slot. A beautifully rendered backdrop of shimmering waterfalls and blue skies brings the spirit of Tarzan to a new medium, retaining his affinity with wild animals and his famous yodelling call on the sound track, and including partner Jane and her father, Professor Archimedes Q. Porter.
Tarzan hosts the game. He celebrates player victories with his off-reel athletics and vine swings, and marks big wins by performing somersaults, while any five-of-a-kind unleashes that unmistakable jungle yell as he beats his chest.
“Tarzan is a visually bold and highly entertaining slot that celebrates the playful nature of this larger-than-life character,” Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said in a press statement Thursday.
“We’ve had a blast working with such an experienced licensor to bring this iconic brand to the online gaming world, and I think it shows. 2016 has been a busy year for us and there isn’t a better way to end it than with a classic branded title.”
Tarzan is a feature-rich game; three or more scatters trigger the Bonus Wheel, which Tarzan spins to award one of four guaranteed prizes: a jackpot, free spins, Pick-a-Potamus bonus or cash multipliers. There are also Free Spins with Rolling Reels that explode into action, allowing more symbols to drop onto the reels. Rolling Reels also combine with Growing Wilds to increase a player’s winning potential.
Developed under a licence agreement with Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc., and brokered by Creative Licensing Corporation, Microgaming has been applauded for its interpretation of this jungle classic.
James Sullos, president of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. says: “We’re pleased that the game remains faithful to this very special character, who continues to appeal to a diverse worldwide audience. We enjoyed working with Microgaming and we’re excited to see the game launch today into the online arena.”
