Another of the New York defendants in the Legends sports betting bust has been convicted and punished with a $250,000 penalty, although he managed to avoid going to prison for his part in the billion dollar online gambling ring.
Craig Hayner (44) negotiated a plea to become the fourth defendant to be convicted from a group of 34 individuals indicted by the US Justice Department’s Criminal Division and the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.
It is understood that a former employee of the Legends group blew the whistle on its US activities, setting in train a major federal investigation.
