Players on the LesA online casino were surprised this week to receive a brief email advising them without explanation that the operation would shut down March 8.
The move was all the more surprising considering that the casino had taken the time, expense and trouble to obtain licensing in Gibraltar and the UK.
The email advised players:
“From Tuesday 8 March, our games will not be available and at this point we ask that you withdraw any remaining balance from your account. For further details on withdrawal and wagering policies please click here (http://www.lesacasino.com/terms/lesa_closure.html). After Tuesday 15 March, your account will no longer be available and LesAcasino.com will be officially closed.”
The email referred players to partner brand and sister site Casino.com for more online gambling action, which offered special incentives to sign up, particularly on the new mobile product.
On Wednesday the LesA site was dark, offering only the information that it has closed and repeating the recommendation to play at Casino.com.
A member of the Mansion group and powered by Playtech, LesACasino had a theme modelled on the Les Ambassedeurs Club in London.
