Ladbrokes Coral has announced that its GBP 40 million media planning and buying account has been awarded to London agency The7stars.
The award was made following a closed pitch and indicates the confidence the group has in the agency, which has handled Gala Coral media planning since 2011. The news will disappoint Ladbrokes present agency Blue 449, which has been dropped in the interests of synergy and cost-saving.
Dan Staples, previously Ladbrokes head of brand and advertising, is now group marketing director of the merged Ladbrokes-Coral group, the publication Campaign Live reports.
In related news, Ladbrokes revealed in a stock exchange announcement Friday that Non-Executive Director Christine Hodgson, has advised that she will not seek re-election to the Board at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 4 May 2017 due to an increased level of business commitments.
Hodgson joined the Board as Non-Executive Director in May 2012 and will have completed five years in this capacity, including a spell as Senior Independent Director of Ladbrokes plc prior to the merger with Gala Coral. She will remain on the Board up to and including the Annual General Meeting.
Ladbrokes Coral Chairman, John Kelly, said:
“I am sad to see Christine step down from the Board but appreciate her decision based on her growing work commitments. She has been a stalwart of the Board over her time with us and has provided expert and valued advice. She has made a huge contribution in her time and we wish her well.”
