Major lottery win to be made into a film

Remember that small, remote Spanish village which was transformed into a centre of world attention following a record lottery win? The Disney movie empire is reportedly set to produce a film based on the remarkable happenings and good fortune of the inhabitants.
The show biz publication The Wrap reports that Disney is partnering with screenwriter Martin Hynes on a comedy about the little village where everyone except one resident won substantial sums of Euros.

Prompting American interest in the story was an article written last January by Suzanna Daley which appeared in the New York Times shortly after the big win.

The piece, titled “In Spanish Village, Everyone’s a Winner, Almost,” detailed the events leading up to the win of a $950 million lottery jackpot, split among (almost) all the residents of the 70 house Spanish village.
