Online lottery betting operator Lottoland has acquired a majority stake in Italian lottery firm Giochi24 for an undisclosed consideration and launched the brand into the Italian market.
The Italian debut marks Lottoland’s eighth license in regulated markets.
“We are delighted to have partnered with Giochi24 and to enter into the regulated Italian market,” Nigel Birrell, CEO of Lottoland said. “Italy is a vibrant, growing market with huge potential and we are very confident there is a strong appetite for our jackpot offering.”
Paolo Di Feo, CEO of Giochi24, added: “We are very excited to have partnered with Lottoland and the opportunities that will bring to both businesses. We are also thrilled to be able to provide Italian players with two sites, Giochi24.it and Lottoland.it.
“We are now in a great position to fulfil our mission – to have the most complete offering of games of luck and lotteries that are approved by the regulator and available to players in a simple and easy format.”
