The Lottomatica Group and US gaming equipment and games supplier International Game Technology have extended their e-gaming partnership to include an intensified sally into the Italian market.
The earlier partnership involved IGT providing game content and gaming machines to the Italian VLT (Comma 6b) gaming markets, whilst Lottomatica offered IGT’s full suite of online slots and game content for the regulated slot market in Italy.
The extended agreement will see IGT becoming a supplier of iGaming content, with a particular focus on casino games.. This agreement will also provide players the opportunity to play the same games offered online and on mobile on the more than 10,000 VLTs in VLT venues throughout Italy.
Robert Melendres, IGT executive vice president of emerging businesses said, “When you add the existing land-based VLT agreement with Lottomatica, we are delivering true game convergence to the player, with IGT’s top-performing casino content in their homes and on their mobile devices.”
IGT customer favourites and well-known brands will be available, while additional games will be regularly added to the portfolio, Melendres said.
Guglielmo Angelozzi, senior vice president of gaming machines and online at Lottomatica, commented: “In addition to IGT providing game content for VLTs in Italy, Lottomatica will also be able to distribute IGT’s leading iGaming products in an integrated manner through diverse gaming channels, such as smart phones and tablets.
“We will provide Italian iGaming players with exciting, new game content while facilitating responsible play, which has always been, and is, an integral part of Lottomatica’s daily operations.”
