Lottery technology provider GTech Corporation has signed a five year contract to provide a new online and instant lottery system and digital multimedia facility to the Luxembourg Loterie Nationale.
The contract is for eight years, effective November 2012, and has a five-year extension option.
A GTech statement said that it expects revenues of around Euro 40 million will be generated over the period of the contract.
GTech President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel said: Loterie Nationale has been a valued GTech customer since 2001 when we first brought their instant games online. Over the years, our partnership has brought about mutually beneficial innovations and increased revenues through various initiatives including the deployment of fast-draw keno in 2002 and the launch of Euro Millions in 2004, all in support of good causes in Luxembourg. We will continue to work with Loterie Nationale to bring them to the next level of growth, helping them to build a strategy for the future to ensure the Lottery continues to attract todays player as well as the next generation of players.
Loterie Nationale Director Léon Losch said, We were extremely impressed with the proposal put forth by GTech. From a technology point-of-view, the new system will well enable us to grow our revenue in a fully responsible way through all available channels. Moreover, GTech has demonstrated a low risk migration strategy that will protect our revenues and reputation during the conversion process to the new system.
