Macau booms

Macau’s gaming revenues show no sign of slowing down according to data released by the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau despite the Government’s attempts at encouraging a measured pace of growth.
The former Portuguese enclave’s gaming revenues for the month of May 2011 were 24.31 billion patacas ($3 billion) representing a record growth of 42.4 percent compared to May 2010 and a 19 percent increase from its last monthly record in April 2011 of 20.51 billion patacas.
The opening of the Galaxy Macau, a seven day national holiday and an unabating demand from Chinese mainland punters are said to have contributed to the record results.
