Macau half yearly numbers impress

The revenue generating machine that is the land gambling industry in Macau turned in an impressive half year performance this week, according to official figures from the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

Gross revenues reached 172 billion patacas ($21.5 billion) in H1-2013, with casino games contributing the bulk of revenues.

VIP baccarat and baccarat delivered a combined 91.3 percent of total gross revenues at 115.8 billion patacas and 40.7 billion patacas respectively, whilst slot machines . Slot machines generated 7.1 billion patacas and the dice game ‘cussec’, produced 3.2 billion patacas in gross revenue..

Other markets comprising greyhound and horseracing, Chinese and instant lotteries and sports lotteries for football and basketball accounted for less than half a percent of the total.
