The Reuters news agency reports that July 2013 gambling revenues in Macau have apparently been unaffected by the slowdown in the Chinese economy, delivering the third highest monthly revenue numbers so far this year at 29.5 billion patacas ($3.7 billion).
The 20 percent rise in revenue over the month was broadly in line with analyst’s predictions of around 18 to 21 percent.
Government data released Thursday showed that more middle-class gamblers visited Macau in July, eclipsing the growth in the number of high-rollers.
