The state of Maryland has joined the growing number of US states investigating daily fantasy sports to decide whether the vertical should be banned or regulated as a form of gambling.
Local media reports indicate that senior state officials from the State Comptroller and Attorney General’s offices, along with representatives of Gov. Larry Hogan and regulatory and lottery officials held a top level meeting to consider the genre and its legality yesterday (Thursday).
Attorney General Brian E. Frosh has reportedly been tasked with reporting timeously on the legal implications of DFS at state level.
