Baccarat lived up to its name as the game for ultra-high rollers this weekend when a Hong Kong player won a world record of one hundred million Hong Kong dollars (around US$ 12,890,500) at the World Series Baccarat Championship.
Lin Haisan will feature in the Guinness World Record annual book in two categories once the win is confirmed by Guinness observers: biggest individual prize ever won in a baccarat tournament and biggest prize pool in a baccarat tournament at HK$ 119,000,000.
The Hong Kong player had to survive qualifying events in Australia and Macau before playing in the finals at the Sheraton in Macau
The championship was sponsored by junket operator SunCity Group.
