Purple Lounge players remained in the dark this week regarding the future of their account balances at the failed online casino and poker room, which owners Media Corp shuttered abruptly and without explanation at the end of April.
Despite other publications reporting that their requests for comment are being ignored by both Media Corp and the Malta regulator, we offered the LGA an opportunity to give its perspective on the issue three days ago.
When we went to press Saturday there had not been even the courtesy of an acknowledgement of our email from the regulator, suggesting an alarming level of disinterest in a serious player issue.
We asked:
a) Will the LGA still entertain player complaints concerning non-payment or other issues that occurred at PL pre-termination? This may be important if PL intends to re-licence with the LGA under its new management.
b) From the regulator perspective, were you satisfied at all times that the Key Official had correctly submitted relevant and timely reports required of LGA licensees?
c) Were these reports diligently scrutinised by LGA regulators and found to be both timely and satisfactory in terms of accuracy? If not were fines imposed?
d) Was the LGA listed as beneficiary in any Purple Lounge separate player fund?
