Nick Chan, who recently vacated the Australian media group Seven West Media chief operating officer post with a pay-out of over a million Aussie dollars, has been appointed chairman of TopBetta, a fantasy football tournament company with public listing ambitions.
TopBetta, which is targeting an Australian Securities Exchange listing before year’s end, was founded by Todd Buckingham and Craig Pearce, and currently has about 2,000 active monthly users, The Australian newspaper reports.
Chan is an experienced corporate executive, having managed Seven’s Pacific Magazines for a decade until October 2013. Before that he was chief executive of Eric Beecher’s Text Media, and worked for Kerry Packer’s ACP Magazines for 17 years.
