The Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) awarded licenses to MGM Resorts International, Z4 Poker LLC and CAMS LLC to operate in the Nevada State’s intrastate online poker sector, this week.
MGM Resorts will launch a play-for-fun website in partnership with bwin.party digital entertainment plc who has a similar agreement in place with licensee Boyd Gaming should the NGC award the firm a license.
MGM’s proposed play-for-fun site will operate alongside its myVEGAS social media site which was developed by and is run in partnership with Playstudios.
The NGC said MGM and Boyd Gaming’s license approvals are independent of its consideration of a license award to bwin.party digital entertainment, which is expected to be assessed early in the New Year.
CAMS LLC was approved and is limited to provide geolocation, customer identification and payment processing services. It is a newly-formed subsidiary of electronic payment and risk management company Verifi.
Interactive gaming start-up Z4 Poker is reportedly developing a poker system along with bingo and keno for launch into the real-money play market.
These three newest licensees join already approved Boyd Gaming, Station Casinos LLC and the Fertitta Ultimate GamingUltimate Poker brand, South Point Poker, Global Cash Access Holdings, Bally Technologies, the Golden Nugget, WMS Industries, NetEffect Networks, International Game Technology, Monarch Interactive, PokerTrip Enterprises, and SHFL Entertainment (formerly ShuffleMaster).
