MGT Capital Investments, a social gaming operator building a real money business through Facebook ventures in fantasy sports, has launched a new free-to-play game titled Daily Fantasy Legend in a bid to reprise its success with DraftDay.
A company spokesman revealed this week that MGT’s goal is to widen its fantasy sports audience, using the free-to-play format to attract a younger demographic to its social gaming offers.
In related daily fantasy sports news one of the industry leaders, DraftKings, has inked a sponsorship deal with national basketball franchise Houston Rockets, which is the second NBA team to enter into such an agreement.
Our readers will recall that earlier this year DraftKings signed a similar deal with Philadelphia 76ers.
Both deals provide high profile opportunities for DraftKings to appear in stadia and online.
DraftKings is becoming increasingly visible in national sports league teams, securing partnership deals with the National Hockey League sides and NFL teams Denver Broncos and New England Patriots (see previous reports).
