Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has nixed attempts to make the State the fifth to allow online gambling by vetoing Bill HB4926 during his last week in office.
HB 4926, which was approved by both the Michigan Senate and the Michigan House of Representatives earlier this month, included provisions for the regulation of real money internet casino gaming and internet sports betting.
In a letter to lawmakers, Snyder said the legislation merits more careful study, partly because “we simply don’t have the data” to support change.
