Microgaming settled the widespread rumours of a new Batman slot circulating over the last few weeks by launching The Dark Night game Thursday.
Based on the legendary motion picture from Warner Bros. Pictures, “The Dark Knight” video slot promises the same action packed visual experience, with plenty of in-game features including an impressive 4 tier progressive jackpot.
Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, said: “We are extremely excited about the launch of ‘The Dark Knight’ video slot and the ongoing success of our relationship with DC Entertainment.
“At Microgaming, we believe in pursuing partnerships that will result in the creation of the best quality content for our games portfolio. We have collaborated closely with DC Entertainment over the past few months in the development of a dynamic and realistic tribute to the blockbuster movie brand of ‘The Dark Knight.”
Fans of DC Comics and the film series will find their favourite heroes and villains brought to life on the reels of the new game.
With the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises”, due out this summer, players can also look forward to another “The Dark Knight” slot game based on the latest film, to be launched by Microgaming in 2013.
“The Dark Knight” is based on the DC Comics character Batman, who was first seen in Detective Comics in 1939 and since then has become a globally recognised phenomenon. Today, Batman is featured in 15 monthly comic books from DC Entertainment, versions of which are translated in 30 different languages and distributed in over 60 countries to millions of fans.
“The Dark Knight” film was released in 2008, becoming the third highest grossing film of all time in the US, with over $500 million in domestic US box office takings, and over $1 billion worldwide.
