Microgaming‘s record-breaking progressive slot Mega Moolah has been quietly ticking up in recent months and on Thursday the provider revealed that it has now reached 12 million, payable in the currency in which the eventual winner has played the game.
There is no limit to how high the jackpot can rise before some very fortunate online punter hits the right combination to release a life-changing reward.
The progressive holds a Guinness World Record for the largest jackpot pay-out in an online slot machine game – a record-breaking GBP 13,213,838.68 (Euro 17,879,645.12) pay-out on 6 October 2015, which was awarded to Jon Heywood, a UK player on Betway (see previous reports).
Mega Moolah has also generated the largest ever mobile jackpot win (April 2017) and made multiple millionaires at the start of 2018 with a series of major pay-outs to several lucky players.
John Coleman, Microgaming CEO, said in a company statement Thursday:
“Mega Moolah is a Microgaming classic. It’s a millionaire maker, a record-breaker and has been awarding life-changing wins since its release in 2006. We are proud to host the largest and most exciting progressive jackpot network in the industry, and this is a particularly exciting time for our operators and their players. The jackpot is growing daily and it is only a matter of time before the mega jackpot is hit.”
To date, Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network, which is the largest in the industry, has paid out over Euro 903 million. Recent wins on the network include a massive prize of Euro 4,931,205.46 on Mega Moolah, which was won on Jackpot City (24 June 2018), and the GBP 1,515,371.53 jackpot hit on Major Millions 5 Reel on 22 August 2018 by a Red Kings player.
